There can be several reasons why you have to take your compact or digital video discs with you when you take a trip. Maybe these contain videos and music to keep your children preoccupied during the long flight. Or, you might need to bring them as promotional materials for your company. Perhaps they contain files that you need for your business meetings abroad. Whatever reasons you have, you know that you need to take good care of these items when you are travelling. You can do that by following these suggestions.

First, determine how many pieces of CDs or DVDs you need to bring. This will make it easier for you to know what packing items you need. If you are taking only around a dozen pieces or so, you can slip them into a CD pack for easy carrying. However, if you need to keep your discs in individual casings, the best option is to cover them in bubble wrap, with pieces of carton inserted between each case. This is especially useful for those who need to pack multiple CDs to hand out as promotional tools during their business trip. Make sure to tape the bubble wrap so that they will not separate inside your luggage. Place them inside your baggage in between layers of clothing to give them extra protection. Using a hard shell bag is more advantageous because it can provide better protection, particularly from dents, spills, and other possible damages.

Paper cases or CD sleeves are other items that you can use to safeguard your discs when you pack them for a trip. Aside from providing protection, they are lighter to carry around.
