Building a CD Rack for Your Collection at Home

CDs can quickly take up space and make a mess in your abode if they are not organised. The best way to clean up the mess and properly store these items is to use a CD rack. Buying one can cost a bit though and sometimes it is also difficult to find the exact size that you need. However, building a sectional CD rack from a few materials can get the home improvement job done without a lot of expense. So here is what you need to do to start on this task.

First, prepare the things that you will need for this house project such as boards, wood glue, and clamps. Once you are ready, your next step should be to apply wood glue to the edge of one of the boards before putting a second one across it, creating a right angle. Use the clamp to hold the boards together while they dry. Then, repeat the previous step to make a second "L" shaped wood structure. To get a firmer bond, wait for twenty-four hours while the glue dries completely. After that, remove the clamps from the structures and glue the two shapes together to create a square. Again, you must glue them together and allow both sides to dry. Now, your rack is ready to use.

Remember, if you make your own CD rack, you can customise and place it anywhere in your house. You can either incorporate it in your home entertainment system or mount it inside your bedroom or living room so you will always have a mess-free CD collection.
